Mark Carson
Currently an active freelance performer and educator in the Washington, DC area specializing in classical and commercial performance. Formerly Assistant Principal Percussionist-Principal Drumset with the United States Air Force Concert Band, Washington, DC. Mark has performed with the National Symphony, Washington National Opera Orchestra, National Gallery Orchestra, Baltimore Opera orchestra, Houston Ballet, San Francisco Ballet and New York City Ballet. An active freelance performer in all styles specializing in drumset and vibes he has also played with Diane Schur, Kenny Rankin, Chaka Kahn, Clay Aiken, The Gatlin Brothers and recorded soundtracks for Disney, National Geographic, HBO, Discovery Channel, Naxos, National Public Radio, Learning Channel and the Fox network. Mark is an educational artist for Sabian Cymbals, Pearl Drums/Adams Percussion, Blackswamp Percussion and Vic Firth drumsticks.
