DWP Announces 2009 Contest Winners!

Doug Wallace Percussion would like to congratulate the winners of the 2009 Percussion Composition Contest:
Timpani Solo Category:
Winner - hyperbola by Michael Roberts (Boston, MA)
Percussion Solo with Brass Quintet Category:
Winner - After Rain by Jack Hughes (Reston, VA)
Honorable Mention:
Tantrums by Paul Erickson (Fairfax, VA)
Binary Bellicoso by Craig Hunter (Great Falls, VA)
Forthwith by Joseph McIntyre (Rockville, MD)
Michael was awarded a $500 prize for his composition, and Jack received a $750 prize for his contest entry. Both winners were also awarded a Publication Contract with Doug Wallace Percussion. Compositions receiving Honorable Mention were awarded a $100 prize and a Publication Contract with Doug Wallace Percussion. The winning pieces will be available in our Fall, 2009 Publications Catalog. Thank you to all who entered. The judges had to work hard to choose winners from among the many high-quality entries.
