2009 Composition Contest - ENTER NOW!

Doug Wallace Percussion is hosting its 2009 Percussion Composition Contest for original works for percussion. Professional percussionists, composers, and students are encouraged to submit their compositions to be judged by a panel of professional musicians.  Prize money and a publication contract will be awarded to the winner of each of the two categories:

Category 1: $500 prize - Timpani Solo, 3-4 drums, no tuning changes or pedaling (2-5 min)

Category 2: $750 prize - Percussion Solo (any instrument or combination of instruments) with Brass Quintet (2 trumpets, horn, trombone, tuba), single movement or multiple movements (5-15 min). 

Runners-up may also be awarded a publication contract.  Applications will be accepted until May 30, 2009, and winners will be announced on June 26, 2009
