2008 Composition Contest- ENTER NOW! - Doug Wallace Percussion

In an effort to expand percussion literature and promote music education, Doug Wallace Percussion is hosting its first Percussion Composition Contest for original works for percussion.   Professional percussionists, composers, and students are encouraged to submit their compositions to be judged by a panel of professional musicians.  A $500 prize and publication contract will be awarded to the winner of each of the two composition categories: Category 1- Snare Drum, Mallet or Timpani Solo (3-6 min) / Category 2- Percussion Ensemble (3-6 players and 5-10 min).  Runners-up may also be awarded a publication contract.  Applications will be accepted until May 30, 2008, and winners will be announced on June 27, 2008.
